An industrial heritage
The city of Sabadell, capital of the Vallès Occidental region, was a pioneer in the industrial revolution of Catalonia in the textile sector and, in the mid-19th century, became the most important city in the Spanish wool industry, which earned it the nickname of the "Catalan Manchester". Even today, many chimneys and boilers can still be seen, some of which have been converted into local facilities, such as libraries or bookstores. This textile heritage left an industrial character in the city that is still present today.
